Spectral Resolved Transmittance / Absorbance Measurement System
CIMPS-abs System Extend the scope of your CIMPS system to the examination of electro-chromic processes!

The core application of the revolutionary Zahner CIMPS system is the determination of the dynamic response of photo-electrochemical systems like DSSC and OSC with modulated or switched light. The CIMPS-abs option provides additional photo-electrochemical methods for recording of spectrally resolved absorption/extinction characteristics in dependence of the cell voltage and the cell current. The resulting series of absorbance spectra can be visualized, processed, analyzed and exported in manifold ways by means of the Thales lightspectra software.

CIMPS Absorbance CV Schematic CIMPS-abs includes a wide-range-high-power LED or a tungsten light source or alternative a deuterium tungsten light source, two slide-moved, transparent PECC2 cells (one test and one reference cell), and an USB-controlled spectrometer. A sub-potentiostat XPOT or PP211 is controlling the lightsource of the CIMPS system. With the unique feedback principle of CIMPS a highly stable, calibrated light intensity is guaranteed. The beam passes the test cell or alternatively the reference cell for comparison. Galvanostatically or potentiostatically controlled ramps are applied to the sample while spectral measurements of the light passing through the test cell are performed. All components are under control of the Thales software and cooperate in a fully automated process.
